A delicious and nutritious way to make spinach, or any other greens. This is a mildly seasoned dish, which is unusual for people used to much stronger Indian flavors. The combination of spinach or leafy greens, lentils and spices can be mixed with rice to provide a healthy, tasty balanced plant based (PB) meal. You can also add the Poriyal as a side dish (spice kit available).
Serve as an alternative to creamed spinach for a much healthier side to everyday meal.
My father liked it so much that it soon became my daughter's favorite too! So we called it Grandpa's Favorite Spinach Masiyal.
